Gusseted at the crotch and articulated at the knee, these pants were pattern-tested on actual switchbacks, not a treadmill. The fabric has just enough mechanical stretch to handle a high step over deadfall, and the hem tapers with a hidden cinch so it never eats your bootlaces. Two zippered thigh pockets hold a phone and a bar without the telltale bounce.
